GetSportsFocus.com – Two days before the big, BIG game in Washington D.C. Sports Focus gives you a snap shot of the San Jose State Spartans 2012 journey.
SJSU will be taking on Bowling Green in the 2012 Military Bowl. This is the first time that the Military Bowl is able to host two ranked teams.

Here are some of the best moments in the 2012 Spartans season:

Tyler Irvin returning a kick off return against San Diego right after the Aztecs scoring drive.  Spartans regained the lead on Irvin’s TD.

Travis Johnson leading the defense with QB sacks and tackles for loss.  Johnson was also recognized with multiple awards during the season.

Speaking of awards, David Fales, throwing perfect bombs to his favorite targets: Noel Grigsby, Chandler Jones, Jabari Carr and Ryan Otten

Ryan Otten, the Big Man, the Ox, making those tough catches with defenders coming at him ready to hit and be hit.

Chandler Jones, one of the best receivers we’ve seen here on GetSportsFocus finishing catches with extra yardage runs.

Noel “Just-Throw-It-I’ll-Catch-It” Grigsby, making those tough catches for first downs and touch downs.

Jabari Carr, wearing number one and plays like it.  One of the most exciting players on the field.  Carr is all out when it comes to the passing game.

Keith Smith, talk about exciting… this guy is electrifying.  Smith along with Vince Buhagiar,Travis Raciti, Travis Johnson and the rest of the D-Line were a nightmare to the offense all season long.

Special Teams was key to the Spartans success this year.  Austin “Automatic” Lopez was perfect all season long.  Damon Ogburn, one of the best kick off tackler, a hard hitter and a very good corner back/safety as well.  Ogburn is usually in on every kick offs this year and there were plenty of that all season.  And we cannot forget the kick off / punter man, Harrison Waid.  Field position is a great thing to have and Waid placed the ball numerous times where opposing teams had to start off pinned or deep in their own territory.

And last but not least, the SJSU Fans.  It really helps the team’s confidence, knowing that there are thousands of Spartan Faithfuls out there ready to roar when the game starts.

These are just some of the highlights of the year.  And what a year it’s been.
