Phillips is double majoring in sociology and science, technology and society. A product of Omaha, Nebraska, he was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and an All-Pac-12 honorable mention defensive lineman in 2016.

Bright is a biomechanical engineering major and started 10 games on the offensive line last season.

Schultz was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention tight end last year, and has played in every game the past two seasons.

Kalambayi, who hails from Matthews, North Carolina, is a starting outside linebacker and communication major.

Chryst was 6-0 as the starting quarterback last season, and earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention accolades as a science, technology and society major.

Stanford opens the season Aug. 26 against Rice in Sydney, Australia.
