Valley Christian’s Alton Julian turned some heads at The Opening this past weekend. The class of 2018 playmaker was one of the top performers who finished 13th overall with a 106.98 rating. Julian’s performance is just an extension of his off season activities. After the Warriors’ lost to Madison in the CIF State D2-AA championship last December, Julian started training immediately and was a key part of Epic 7, a San Jose based 7v7 squad that represented NorCal in the Best of the West tournament at Passing Down.

Alton has been around football since a young age. His father, Troy Julian is a youth football coach, and Alton played for him throughout his younger days. When Julian began his career at VCHS freshman year, he immediately contributed to his team’s success playing multiple positions. The Warriors finished 9-1 that season.

Julian continued his contributions to the program as a sophomore. His best moments include scoring game-winning touchdowns in a multiple league contests.

Julian is currently a starter on defense for his undefeated varsity squad. His interception in Week 4 earned him a recognition as a Game-Changer for GetSportsFocus weekly segment, where five student athletes from Northern California are recognized based on their performance the previous week. When asked which college he would like to play for after his high school days are over, Julian listed: USC, Cal, Arizona, Oregon and Texas as his choices.
