DLS defense limited the Palo Alto offense to 5 points in the first half, Spartans beat the Vikings 35-25

Posted March 7, 2013 by in – De La Salle’s game plan was to clamp down on Palo Alto’s high powered offensive attack and they did just that.  The Vikings who normally score over 55 points per game was held to 5 in the first half.  Aubrey Dawkins scored all 5 and he would eventually score the most points out of everyone on the floor with 14.  De La Salle took control of the game right from the get go even thou it took them almost three minutes to score their first bucket from the field.  Palo Alto looked as if it had control of the game until De La Salle’s defense figured out the Vikings offense.  Elliot Pitts led the Spartans with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals.  Pitts also made 7 out of 8 from the free throw line.  Brian Rosselli dropped 9 points for the Spartans and Michael Inman followed with 8 points.

De La Salle advances to the second round of the CIF NorCal D-1 tournament against San Leandro who beat Bethel of Richmond 74-55.
