With a run differential of +138, the lady Monarchs have dominated the always tough West Catholic Athletic League. Saturday afternoon cemented that domination as Mitty defeated the Presentation Panthers 8-1 in the WCAL Finals.
Leading the charge was senior center fielder Haley Wymbs. The Seattle U commit jump started the Monarch offense right from the get-go as she homered to right to lead off the bottom of the first; her fifth home run of the season. But she certainly didn’t stop there, Wymbs delivered a bases loaded, two-run single in the bottom half of the second to put the Monarchs up 4-1 and solidify Game of The Week MVP honors.
However, what makes Mitty so dangerous is the depth of their lineup. Senior catcher Megan Nordin was awarded Playmaker of the game with her fourth inning two-run homer. Cal Poly commit would finish the game with a solid two for three day, including a sac bunt and two RBI.
Mitty remains undefeated in league (14-0) and looks to carry over that success into the CCS playoffs.
