2017 Bruce-Mahoney Game
Game of the Week | Sacred Heart Cathedral vs St. Ignatius

by: Julian Gaskins

The Bruce Mahoney trophy was on the line as St. Ignatius was a win away from keeping the trophy. The Wildcats offensive attack led by juniors Darrion Trammell and Brandon Beckman got the Wildcats off to an early lead in the first quarter and held the Irish off throughout the second half. The second half was much of the same as Trammell used the third quarter to put the game away, displaying his offensive game. The Wildcats would go on to win the game 64-48 retaining the Bruce Mahoney trophy for their fourth consecutive year. Trammell led the way for the Wildcats with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals while Beckman added 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the blowout win. This win pushes the Wildcats record to 11-1 overall and 3-0 in WCAL games.
