GSF Exclusive: Gilroy Wrestling (documentary)

Project Title: Gilroy Wrestling

Project description: “Gilroy Wrestling” chronicles the last four years of five outstanding wrestlers from Gilroy High School: Victor Olmos, Paul Fox, Nikko Villarreal, Lupe Jimenez and Isaiah Locsin. All five wrestlers started wrestling at a young age along with the rest of the team.  Each wrestler have their own story to tell.

Nikko, an ASU bound senior is looking to close out his high school career with his 4th CCS title and 3rd State title.  Stanford bound seniors Victor, Paul and Isaiah are all looking to end their high school career with first place finishes as well. And last but not least, Lupe Jimenez whose life’s path was changed because of wrestling. This feature length documentary explores the world of high school wrestling at it’s finest.

“Gilroy Wrestling” is a testament to what it takes to be a champion. With multiple wrestlers ranked nationally in the past 11 years, this documentary also talks about how the program got to where it is today as the Mustangs look to win their 12th consecutive CCS title and first CIF State team title as well.
