Archbishop Mitty High School
Names New Head Football Coach
San Jose, CA. December 4, 2017 – Archbishop Mitty High School has named Sione
Ta’ufo’ou as the new head coach of its football program effective immediately.
Before joining the Archbishop Mitty coaching staff as the offensive coordinator this past
season, Coach Ta’ufo’ou spent five years as the head coach at Menlo-Atherton High
School where he took the Bears to the 2011 CCS Finals and was named PAL Coach of the
Year. Ta’ufo’ou serves as a quarterback coach for several programs including Nike’s
prestigious Elite 11, Trent Dilfer Football, and The Opening; is a board member for the
AIGA Foundation; and is the founder of Difference Makers, a non-profit serving student
athletes.
Coach Ta’ufo’ou replaces Keith Burns, who spent three seasons as the Monarchs’ head
coach and one season as the defensive coordinator.
