Posted February 22, 2014 by in – The last time St. Ignatius girls soccer won a WCAL Championship was 2009.  After beating some key opponents in the second half of the regular season, the Wildcats were determined to get to the top.  Having tied Mitty twice in regular season play, SI got ahead early with Carly Bell’s header off a corner kick in the third minute of the game.  Defense was the key for the Wildcats the rest of the way.  GK Soleil Brisbane kept the Monarchs from scoring making three key saves in the second half.  SI would go on to win 1-0 to claim their first WCAL Championship plaque since 2009.
