St. Ignatius VS Sacred Heart Cathedral – GetSportsFocus Basketball 2014

Posted February 24, 2014 by in – The WCAL women’s hoops finals featured No. 1 seed Sacred Heart Cathedral and No. 2 seed St. Ignatius. Both teams had split a two-game series in the regular season with SHC winning the last matchup. The Fightin’ Irish ladies made it two in a row with a 47-39 win over the Wildcats.

WCAL Co-Player of the Year, GeAnna Summers-Luaulu was held to 7 points but stepped up in key situations with rebounds and steals while playing solid defense. Key players like Kai’ree Howard and A’shanti Coleman brought intensity as well.

St. Ignatius’ leading scorer in Quinci Mann only scored 6 points and did not make any shots in the second half. The Wildcats’ sluggish offense was the main factor in the loss as SI only scored 6 points in the fourth quarter.
