WCAL | The Jungle Game – Serra Padres vs Saint Ignatius Wildcats

Posted January 29, 2015 by in – by: Justin Lum
The Serra Padres (14-3, 6-1) have now defeated St. Ignatius (8-9, 2-5) for the fifth time in a row. The Padres also did it in style with a 62-38 win in the 40th Jungle game, giving head coach Chuck Rapp his 300th career win. Serra is now on a 5-game win streak and share the same 6-1 WCAL record as first place Saint Francis (15-2, 6-1).
Padres senior forward Trevor Brown scored a game-high 15 points against the Wildcats and showed off his dynamic skill set. Brown put up points from the post, found teammates with assists, and rebounded the ball. Serra can go far with an inside presence like Brown playing well.
Chuck Rapp believes Serra’s 6th man has a lot to do with the Padres’ success on the home court. Since 2004, Serra’s record is 92-26 at home and the program is undefeated in their gym so far this season (5-0). Maybe it’s the way the gym is built or designed but the noise levels can get extreme in the favor of the Padre Mafia.
