WCAL Wrestling Championship Part 2 of 2

Posted February 18, 2014 by in – The second half of our WCAL Wrestling coverage features a few new faces one of which is Bellarmine’s freshman sensation Isaiah Palomino who dominated the 120 lb weight division ending his finals match in a pin fall. The championship round was started with Mitty’s Sean Shih pinning his opponent Kai Guingona from Riordan in the second period with about a minute left. Shih’s fellow Monarch Shane Triantos had the best performance of the night with a comeback victory over another one of Bellarmine’s stand out freshman David San Miguel. Triantos applied a counter move that trapped San Miguel on his back. Triantos would go on to pin San Miguel with two seconds left in the second period.
Mitty, with 6 out of 8 wrestlers winning the championship easily won the team division with 255.5 points over Bellarmine who started the final round ahead of the Monarchs.
