UPDATE: Leonard committee to SJSU on October 22, 2019

by: Madyson Montoya
Foothill College’s outside linebacker Dion Leonard is getting ready to finish his time at the junior college level and move on to division I football. Leonard was a standout athlete at Milpitas high school and decided to go the juco route due to complications towards the end of his high school career. At Milpitas Leonard had several teammates to look up to and was a part of a program that has a reputation of producing DI athletes as well as future NFL players. Leonard has been working hard these past two years and has made himself stand out. Currently he has an offer from San Jose State but his recruiting is still open. Leonard and the rest of the Foothill team are currently 6-0 and are taking every game week by week. They have a couple more games left and are focused on getting to a bowl game. Leonard said that he owes his success to his coaches throughout the years. They have pushed him to not only be a better player but a better person and coaching is a big factor in where he will end up next.
