Reid Tabbed by Houston | All-America defensive back heading to Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Houston Texans selected Justin Reid with the 68th overall pick of the NFL Draft. Reid was selected in the third round.
Reid, a defensive back from Prairieville, Louisiana, earned All-America second team nods from the FWAA and AP while being a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist as a junior at Stanford. Reid also was an All-Pac-12 first team performer and member of the Pac-12 All-Academic second team.
Reid registered 99 tackles (52 solo), 6.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack with six pass breakups in 2017. He was first among Pac-12 players and 11th nationally with five interceptions, second among Pac-12 players with 0.4 interceptions/game and 14th among Pac-12 players with 7.1 tackles/game.
The management science and engineering major played in 39 career games through three seasons, accounting for 179 tackles (10.50 tackles for loss), 20 passes defended and six interceptions.
Reid’s brother, Eric, became an NFL All-Pro defender for the San Francisco 49ers after his All-America career at LSU.
