Fighting Irish of Sacred Heart Cathedral swats the Hornets of Novato 49-9 – Game of the Week

GetSportsFocus.com – Ken Peralta earned his first home win at Kezar Stadium as Sacred Heart Cathedral’s head coach. The Fightin’ Irish (2-0) dominated the Novato Hornets (0-3) in a 49-9 win.
SHC cornerback Zhiir James flipped the switch for the Irish, picking up a fumble and taking it 23 yards for a touchdown on Novato’s second play of the game. From then on, it was all Sacred Heart who sacked Hornets quarterback Robbie Cassee five times. Novato could not get anything going on offense, scoring on one field goal in the first half.
Running back Brett Rasso rushed for 126 yards on five carries for the Irish. His two touchdowns came from 49 and 7 yards, while recovering a fumble on defense. By the third quarter, Sacred Heart’s backups were in the game and still outscored Novato 7-6 in the second half.
Novato goes on the road next week to Terra Linda while Sacred Heart Cathedral will head to Milpitas High School.
