GetSportsFocus.com – And the first overall pick goes to…

1) Jake Browning – QB – Folsom
Browning is graduating early from Folsom and is headed to Seattle this spring where he will play for the University of Washington. He has set the record for most touchdown passes over a high school career and led his team to a Division 1 state title this fall.

2) Kahlil McKenzie – DT – Clayton Valley
The top recruit in the nation is a dominating defensive tackle at 6-foot-4 and 330 pounds. In his junior season at De La Salle, McKenzie totaled 74 tackles and team-high 12 sacks, earning second-team All-American honors. He can line up anywhere on the defensive line and shows incredible strength and explosion. Football pedigree is in his blood; his father is former L.A. Raiders linebacker and current Oakland Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie while his uncle Raleigh McKenzie played offensive line for the Washington Redskins. Kahlil is a five-star prospect missed all of 2014 at Clayton Valley but is headed to the University of Tennessee next year.

3) Jason Scrempos – DE – Milpitas
A QB’s worst nightmare. At 6’5″ 250lbs, Jason put fear in the mind of opposing QB’s all season long as he helped lead a dangerous Milpitas defense that only allowed only 6.5 points a game. With his quickness and strength, Jason is a force in the pass rush and run defense. Additionally, his hard work and determination will bring his talents up north next year as he will be playing for the University of Washington.

4) Ben Burr-Kirven – MLB – SHP
Ben Burr-Kirven spent the first five games of the season resting a leg injury, but the minute he came back he was a force to be reckoned with. As a playmaker on both sides of the ball, Burr-Kirven still recorded 1086 total yards as the go to guy on offense while being a beast on defense with 116 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions. He led the SHP Gators to a CCS Division IV Championship in the Gators first undefeated season and capped it all off with two rushing TD’s and 11 tackles in the CCS Open Division final. This leader will be taking his talents to the University of Washington next year where he will surely be a stand out.

5) Kirk Johnson – RB – Valley Christian

Kirk Johnson follows in the footsteps of his father when he heads to the University of Texas next year where he will attempt to stamp his name into the Longhorn history books. Kirk battled through injuries during high school but still managed to win GOW MVP in week one of this year.

6) Boss Tagaloa – DL – De La Salle
This defensive tackle from De La Salle stands at 6-foot-2 and 260 pounds and just finished his junior season as a Spartan with a CIF Open Division State Championship. In three seasons so far, Tagaloa has totaled 95 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks. The class of 2016 prospect is a four-star recruit with many D1 programs looking to bring him in.

7) Collin Johnson – WR – Valley Christian
Baby Megatron is a quarterbacks dream come true. With speed, size and hands for days, Collin is the ultimate threat at the wide receiver position. Only a Junior, the younger one of the two Valley Christian Johnson boys, Collin is only going to get better and stronger. Already committed to the University of Texas, this Warboy is primed for the big stage. At 6’5″ 200 lbs just thrown it up and watch “Baby Megatron” go get it.

8) Anthony Gordon – QB – Terra Nova
As the third person in his family to break the Terra Nova Tigers single season record for passing yards and touchdowns, Anthony Gordon is an outstanding QB with a powerful arm. After starting the season 2-5, Gordon led his team to the CCS Division IV Championship game against Monte Vista Christian, and won. The 6’3″ senior passed for 4,899 yards, completed 324 of 470 passes and threw 49 touchdowns. Anthony Gordon is a huge threat to any defense he is up against.

9) Tyler Petite – WR/LB – Campolindo
Tyler Petite brought home the hardware for the Cougars this fall in the DIII state title game, forcing the fumble that led to the game winning touchdown in that game. Petite is taking his talents to USC next year and will definitely play a key role on the Trojan squad.

10) Dru Samia – OL – San Ramon Valley
Dru Samia is a four-star offensive tackle from San Ramon Valley has committed to the University of Oklahoma. At 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds, Samia still has room to fill out his large frame and become an anchor on the offensive line. He has the ability to play left or right tackle and shows solid athleticism during blocks. Samia played in a balanced offensive scheme where he was asked to run block and pass block consistently. According to coaches and scouts, Samia is a hard worker who is always hustling to block the next guy.

11) Alex Netherda – RB/SS – Maria Carrillo
The North Bay League Player of the Year had a spectacular season. Alex averaged 8.08 yards per carry, tallied 25 total touchdowns and is simply a bona fide football player. Alex is a duel threat in the backfield with his ability to hurt defenses with his pass catching and is also a strong presence on defense at the strong safety position, tallying 75 tackles and five interceptions this year. Additionally, Alex was recognized by his team through his leadership, dedication and work ethic. Classic WISEguy material.

12) Mason Knight – WR – Concord
Mason Knight has proved to be key at WR making the All-East Bay football first-team. Knight completed 89 catches for 1,370 yards and 23 touchdowns, leading the Concord Minutemen back to the NCS Division II title game for the third time in five years. The senior averaged over 100 yards per game for the second season in a row.

13) Jack Dreyer – OT – Serra
Jack Dreyer was one of the biggest guys on the field in the WCAL this year, and played a major role for Serra as the Padres captured a share of the league title for the second straight year. Dreyer was crucial to the Serra offense and will be welcomed to the Stanford Cardinal squad next year because when you’re 6’7″, everybody wants you.

14) Devin Asiasi – TE/DE – De La Salle
Devin Asiasi is a four-star tight end that is ranked No. 5 at his position. He is so athletic that he has played multiple positions for De La Salle, including quarterback. Asiasi also played varsity basketball as a sophomore last year. These skills helped him translate into a fine tight end prospect, averaging 16.5 yards per catch during the 2014 season while playing in a run-heavy offense.

15) Antoine Custer – RB – De La Salle
Quick, elusive, patient. Antoine knows how to get it done. A vital part in De La Salle’s state championship run, Antoine was no stranger to big games and the endzone. With 20 rushing TD’s and an average of 129 yards per game, the Junior back has opened the eyes of many who are already anticipating what his senior year has in store for him. His demeanor and trust for his team gives him a bright future.

16) Ja’narrick James – RB – Analy
Floating under the radar is a 5’6, 165-pound RB phenom named Ja’narrick James. This human comet rushed for 1,455 yards on 171 carries, hauled in 32 passes for 416 yards and scored 33 total touchdowns. James is a beast on the field virtually going undetected by the defense, and a beast in the gym bench pressing 265-pounds while squatting 450-pounds. The 2014 Sonoma County Player of the Year is sure to make any defense more than a little frustrated.
