The Saint Francis Lancers have gotten off to a hot start, with wins against Oak Grove and Palma. Washington State-bound Cyrus Habibi-Likio played a major role in Saint Francis’s win against the Oak Grove Eagles, racking up 65 yards and a touchdown in 18 carries. Brandon Bains and Bennett Williams had a touchdown each, contributing to the Lancers’ 24-7 victory. However, Saint Francis’s defense possibly played the biggest role, holding the Eagles to a single TD and only 224 all-purpose yards.

The Lancer D continued their dominance the next week, holding off the Palma Chieftains on the road in a tight, 8-7 win. The game’s standout player, Bennett Williams, had an interception, a 4th quarter touchdown, and a game-saving deflection to top off an impressive Week 2 performance. Led by Junior QB Reed Vettel, the Lancers will travel down to Atascadero High School to face the 1-2 Greyhounds on Friday.
