Redlands East Valley Edges Out Clayton Valley for the CIF Division II State Title

Division II:  Redlands East Valley 34, Clayton Valley Charter (Concord) 33

The Redlands East Valley Wildcats won their first CIF State Championship as they defeated the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles 34-33 in the Division II title game. The Wildcats sealed the victory when Jaelan Phillips blocked the potential CV game tying PAT.

The Wildcats Malik Lovette received the majority of Armando Herrera’s passes by receiving 154 yards of the 290 for the day. Defensively, Turner Shreve recorded 16 tackles for Redlands East Valley.

Clayton Valley’s Miles Harrison amassed 414 all purpose yards, 324 rushing and scoring four touchdowns (3 rushing) in the loss.
