Saint Francis makes it 6-0 after defeating Sacred Heart Cathedral
Saint Francis is on a roll, starting the season off 6-0 for the first time since 2005. After a win over Valley Christian last weekend, the Lancers came into this game with confidence. They would score on back-to-back drives, giving themselves the 14-point advantage.
However, Sacred Heart Cathedral wouldn’t give up that easily. In the second quarter SHC would tie it up. A 67-yard halfback pass from Ronan Murphy to Are’on Mitchell would tie the teams up at 14. In the third quarter the Fighting Irish would take the lead with a nine-yard pass from Andres Ruiz to Murphy, 21-14.
Saint Francis would fight back with two touchdowns late in the third quarter, thanks to GSF Game Changer Cyrus Habibi-Likio. His three touchdowns and 218 rushing yards would lead the Lancers to a 28-21 victory over Sacred Heart Cathedral.
SHC looks to get back on track next week as they head to San Mateo to take on Serra. SF looks to improve to 7-0 next week when they face Bellarmine in the Holy War, your week nine Game of the Week.
