Castro Valley Advances to Round 2 of NCS Division 1 Playoffs

Castro Valley welcomed the Foothill Falcons to the Trojan Den for round 1 of NCS Division 1 playoffs. With no consolation rounds to come, both teams were at risk of ending their season with a loss.
Foothill was the first on the board with a three point shot by freshman guard Sam Novitske. Novitske got the Falcons rolling with 6 of their first 11 points coming from his back to back three pointers. Junior guard Seth Cobb lead his team with 15 total points. Foothill lead the first quarter until Castro Valley was able to push ahead with only :57 seconds left.
Both teams battled neck and neck until the fourth quarter when the Trojans finally took a substantial lead. Their defense played a big roll by putting pressure on Foothill’s big men. CV’s offense found its rhythm as well. Play maker’s Niles Blanchard and Trevel Adanandus got the crowd pumped with back to back ally-oops. Blanchard finished with 16 points, while Adanandus finished with 14 points.
Castro Valley defeats Foothill 63-48. The Trojans will now advance to round 2 of NCS Division 1 Playoffs where they will take on Monte Vista.
