De Anza League | Palo Alto Vikings vs Los Altos Eagles

Posted January 18, 2015 by in – Los Altos nearly pulled off an overtime upset over the first place team in the DeAnza League, Palo Alto. Kevin Mullin led the Vikings’ long range attack from beyond the arc sinking six three point baskets. Palo Alto led most the game but Los Altos caught up with the league leaders midway thru the fourth quarter. The Eagles had the advantage of winning the game with less than 20 seconds left in overtime. Senior Sami Nassif drained a long range basket that gave Los Altos the lead 57-56 but the Eagles would unintentionally commit a foul right at the buzzer. Palo Alto’s Alex Dees would then sink two free throws with no time left on the clock giving Palo Alto the 58-57 edge to win the game. It was a controversial ending that allowed the Vikings to escape with a win over fourth pace Los Altos.
