The Presentation Panthers came into tonight’s game undefeated and loaded with confidence, but the offense struggled to get going consistently and that ultimately led to their downfall against Valley Christian; falling to the Warriors 49-38.
After scoring the games first two points from the free throw line, Presentation never saw the lead again. Junior guard Caitlin Keding nailed VC’s first bucket of the night with a three to jump ahead; Keding would post a game-high 16 points. The sharp shooter would be dubbed the “Playmaker” of the night.
The scoring would pick up in the second half due to several second chance efforts and attacking the hoop. Guard Kyanna Davis was second on the team in scoring, ran the offense and was arguably the biggest force off the glass, sparking a key 11-0 run in the fourth quarter. Davis was named the games “MVP”
Valley Christian’s (12-2, 1-1) next game will be at home against St. Ignatius (5-9, 0-3).
As for Presentation (14-1, 2-1) they’ll head on the road to take on Sacred Heart Cathedral (8-5, 3-0).
