Modesto Christian held Ivan Rabb under 15 points, advances to play in the quarter finals of the CIF NorCal Open

Posted March 9, 2013 by in – Modesto Christian (29-3) pulled off an upset against Bishop O’Dowd (26-4), winning 57-42. This was an intense matchup between the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Champs and the North Coast Section Division III Champs. The Crusaders will play the winner of Newark Memorial vs Archbishop Mitty on March 12th.

The Crusaders were led by their two senior guards, T.J. Wallace and Zerrion Payton who both had 12 points. Another 12 points came from Anthony Townes, the 6’6 sophomore who plays center and power forward.

Modesto Christian’s defense was huge, keeping Bishop O’Dowd’s sophomore star Ivan Rabb to only 14 points. Senior guard Michael Perri had eleven points, playing his last game as a Dragon.
