Green Bay Packers WR Ty Montgomery Exclusive Interview with Kaleigh Krish
by: Kaleigh Krish
They say that as one door closes another one opens, and that’s exactly what wide receiver Ty Montgomery discovered. As his college career came to an end he found opportunity in the NFL. In the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers called Ty Montgomery’s name.
As a junior wide receiver for the Stanford Cardinal, he stepped into his full-time starter role and had his best season with 61 receptions with 958 yards and 10 touchdowns, add that to his return yards and Montgomery totaled 2,208 yards.
With the Packers number one receiver, Jordy Nelson, out in pre-season with a torn ACL, Montgomery needed to step up. Until his injury in week six, the rookie found a way to contribute with 15 receptions, 136 yards and two touchdowns.
As the holiday season rolls around, it’s time to reflect on all we are thankful for and the doors that have opened. Good luck to Ty Montgomery and the Packers.
