High Intensity won their second GSF Super Team title in a convincing 22-11 win over Legacy.
Senior Steven Anaya propelled his team to the championship with a game-changing interception in the semis against a very talented team from Fresno, N0ZoN3. Anaya also scored the go-ahead TD plus the two point extra point in the closing minutes of the finals to beat Legacy.
Black Hills State bound QB Wills Towers and WR Danny Scudero, “the fastest man in CCS” connected multiple times throughout the tournament and put on another clinic. The GSF Super Team #3 is going to be 3X bigger according to GSF Executive Producer Alf Joaquin. Time date and location will be announced soon.
The first ever GSF Super Team Seniors 7v7 Tournament turned out to be a showcase for former Mitty Alums Wills Towers, Danny Scudero, Justice Toavalu along with several Class of 2023s from the Bay Area. Six teams competed and the team High Intensity took the championship away from the host team GSF Unlimited in the final drive of the championship game.
Both teams traded blows in the first 17 minutes of the game. Parker Threatt(2024) of Bellarmine led his squad in good scoring position to drain the remaining time in their final drive but a deflected ball ended up in the cradle of Toavalu. That iced the game for High Intensity 24-21.
The next GSF Super Team Seniors 7v7 Tournament “Showcase” is set for February 19th at Oak Grove High School.
