May 1, 2021 – Silver Creek senior Adaugo Nwachukwu is taking her talents to North Central College for the next four years.
“When I went for a visit, I just like, automatically, kind of connected with the school. I just felt like, I see myself here in like the next four years,” said the future Cardinal.

Adaugo, who went undefeated, winning 45 matches as a junior, earned California’s number one ranking ahead of her senior season campaign. Two weeks after winning her school’s first State title in February of 2020, the pandemic shut down all levels of sports not just in California but throughout the entire country. Despite the lockdown, Adaugo found a way to keep wrestling and signed on the dotted line to wrestle at North Central College located in Illinois.
When the wrestling season starts late this fall, Nwachukwu will be entering her fourth year of wrestling. Her ambitious drive, coupled with her desire to be great is what sets her apart. She walks the talk and welcomes any and every challenge that has come her way. Her goal is to be an Olympian and will decide if she’ll represent her native country of Nigeria or the USA when that time comes.

Junior Adaugo Nwachukwu of Silver Creek, a two-year wrestler, finished her season undefeated. She dominated her way all the way to the CIF State Championship taking first in every single tournament she competed in.

Kelly Escamilla of California was determined to take down the number one seeded wrestler in her 126LB weight division, Silver Creek’s Adaugo Nwachukwu. But an early takedown in the first period, on the undefeated NorCal grappler, only lit the fire that led to a 7-3 defeat. Nwachukwu, a second-year wrestler, and a junior is just barely scratching the surface of a promising career. She preserved her undefeated record by winning her 45th match in dominating fashion for the State crown.

February 23, 2019 – Bakersfield, CA
Adaugo Nwachukwu started wrestling as a sophomore at Silver Creek High School when she moved to the US. She almost quit but a good friend of hers convinced her to stay and compete in one more tournament. She did and she ended up placing 4th at that tournament, the 10th Annual Lady Royals Tournament in San Jose. Unsatisfied with her performance, Nwachukwu dedicated herself to the sport and finished her first year of wrestling 3rd in the Central Coast Section Championships and 4th in the CIF State Wrestling Tournament.
