Palo Alto, all around, came out on fire. They started off the game with a recovered onside kicked that led to a field goal. And then two possessions later scored on a Danny Peters TD pass to his TE Lucas Black, a 53-yard catch, and run that made it 10-0. The Vikings added another touchdown right before the break after an interception by Alex Born. Peters ran it in after completing a 25-yard pass to Blake Chase down at the one to take a 17-0 lead.

Carlmont finally got on the board when QB Jack Wiessinger connected with Luca Byers-Mora in the second to close the gap 17-7 and it stayed that way until mid-third quarter. Junior RB Luke Nessel had the Scots on his back the entire game. He ran the ball tough for Carlmont but unfortunately, that was the only score for him.

Palo Alto’s defense got stingy as the game went on and the offense exploded with three big touchdown plays from Jack Newman and Brody Simison orchestrated by Peters. Newman received the GSF Game of the Week Playmaker shirt for his beast mode run that set up Tobey Lau’s TD in the third quarter and the multiple tackles on defense in the second half. Brody Simison was awarded the GSF Weekly Hustle Play of the Week award on the spot for his two touchdowns in the fourth. The MVP of the game was obvious from the beginning, Danny Peters had two long touchdown passes and a rushing one. Each received the popular Ike’s Love and Sandwiches gift certificate. Final score 36-14 Palo Alto improves to 2-2 while Carlmont drops to 1-3.
