Game Recap
Heach Coach Patrick Walsh finally got to unveil his 2021 Padre Football team to the world along with the fresh new uniforms and it’s all about Brotherhood.
Serra came out as advertised. They scored on every single possession in the first half and forced a running clock for the entire second half.
Here are a few new things we learned about the Padres after tonight’s win over Palo Alto:
– They definitely looked like a State championship-bound team even tho they played without 4-5 standout players due to injury. We’re looking forward to seeing the complete squad in two weeks.
– Seniors Nate Elu and Drew Azzopardi are the real deal at tackles.
– Junior Seamus Martin is definitely a force that defenses would have to pay extra attention to now.
– Dominique Lampkin 4.0 is more than a quarterback. He’s a leader and a captain. He can fire a strike or launch a 45-yard+ bomb and he’s got speed. We saw a little bit of it in the last game against St. Ignatius this past Spring.
– Danny Niu and Ryan Mahe are a deadly combo on defense. Quarterbacks, runningbacks beware of the “Tongan Horses”. – Hassan “The Missil3” Mahasin looked stronger, bigger, and faster than he was two months ago.
– There’s definitely a kicker now in Serra’s special teams’ squad and his name is Leo Galindo.
Serra dominated Palo Alto 41-0 at the half. The Vikings scored two touchdowns against Serra’s backups late in the fourth to make it 41-14, final score.
