‼️Game of the Week‼️ Pioneer Mustangs vs Willow Glen Rams

We love defensive games here at GetSportsFocus, and we got one from Pioneer vs Willow Glen Thursday night.
DB Taggart Severson had a couple of big defensive plays for the Rams, matched by DT Ryan Given of Pioneer. Given made a handful of key plays from his defensive position, that gave some opportunities for his Mustangs to capitalize.

The night’s standout was sophomore “stud” Jesse Herrera of Pioneer, who rushed for 167 yards and scored two touchdowns. He also ended the first half with an interception. Herrera was quick and fast and made plays when needed.

Pioneer QB Gage Houser had a quiet night but still made a couple of key plays that led to his team scoring. Look for Houser to increase production as the season goes on.

Willow Glen’s playmaker Cooper Nixon is another one to watch out for. He is 6’0″, 185LB, and can run thru two to three defenders. But his team struggled in the passing game with multiple drops that prevented them from scoring points.

As Pioneer improves to 3-0, their schedule gets more challenging. They’ll take on Gunderson next week while Willow Glen battles it out with San Jose High.
