The Serra Padres have their most challenging schedule this season, and the proper preparation is critical. Patrick Walsh is entering his 22nd year as the head football coach for the Padres, and he’s put together the best coaching staff to execute a winning formula thru Love, Brotherhood, and Humility.
The Track Test is a tradition at Serra that puts the mental toughness of the team and individual players to the test. It has since replaced the pre-season scrimmage that 99% of high school football teams in America participate in before the official start of the season, at Serra, since the 2019 season. That’s right, Serra forgoes the “scrimmage” every season since then, and they have gone to the CIF State Finals two out of the last three years, plus an undefeated 5-0 season in the Spring of 2021. They’ve won 29 games and lost four since then.
This year, senior WR Jayden Weber became Serra’s “Track Test King” and the 2nd all-time great performer of the challenge. Weber and his senior group, along with some young veterans, are ready to take Padre Football to the elite level. The journey starts this Friday, August 26th, at Folsom High.
