The Serra Padres drove up to The City to take on Archbishop Riordan and spoiled the Crusaders’ Senior Day festivities. LB Fynn Williams racked up 8+ tackles, five of which were behind the line. Junior RB Petelo Richards-GI was also unstoppable for the Padres, scoring three times and rushed for over 170 yards. Riordan’s defense came out hot after stopping Serra on their first offensive drive, followed by a couple of well-executed offensive plays that got the ball inside the five-yard line. But a penalty and a series of precise defensive plays by the Padres moved the back, making it difficult for Riordan to score six. They instead settled for a field goal by Jack McNulty. That would be the only score for them. Serra punctuated their dominance with a 30-yard, 4th, and 8 TD run by QB Dominique Lampkin. That extended the lead 13-3 before the half. Followed by a monster tackle for a loss by Williams early in the third that forced a turnover on downs, leading to GI’s second touchdown of the game. The Padres defeated the Crusaders 26-3 to remain unbeaten. They will play their last game of the season next Saturday at St. Ignatius, also an undefeated team.
