After winning Super Team #3, Coach Ragland’s Drip Academy made it back-to-back to win the biggest and most challenging tournament of the season, the GSF 2023 Super Team Open Championship.
Drip Academy entered the single elimination playoffs seeded #2 behind High Intensity. High Intensity won the first two Super Team tournaments but suffered a tough semifinal, 2OT loss to GSF Unlimited.
In the championship game, Drip Academy took an early 7-0 lead and made two huge stops against GSF Unlimited inside the 10 yard line. The only score for the host team came right after Drip’s second touchdown of the game. Drip’s defense clamped down the rest of the way and won the game 21-7 to claim th first ever GSF Super Team Open title.
Senior QB Daniel Parsons aka “Danny-Dimes” of Castlemont earned himself the MVP award. He threw three touchdowns in the finals.
