Saint Francis makes it five in a row against the Bells. After losing for over a decade against their arch-rival Bellarmine, the Saint Francis Lancers have now won five straight. Thanks to some self-inflicted wounds by Bellarmine, the Lancers capitalized on three turnovers that turned into points. Camilo Arquette, a two-way starter junior continued to solidify himself as one of the top players in the Bay Area. He scored two touchdowns, blocked a PAT, and intercepted a tipped pass that led to his team’s third touchdown going up 21-0. Arquette also took a kick off right after the Bells scored their second TD of the game to close up the score 21-13, and ran it 85 yards inside the ten-yard line. SF scored in three plays to extend its lead to 28-13 after that and they never looked back. The most exciting part of the game happened in the fourth when Arona Mata’u took an interception and turned it into a pick-6 to seal the game for St. Francis followed by Bellarmine’s final touchdown drive of the season featuring senior Nicho Domine. Final score: SFHS 38, BCP 20.
