Mitty, playing their first game of the season, was ready to spoil Valley Christian’s Senior Night with two big plays in the first quarter. Ian Collier intercepted a pass intended for the Warriors’ 4-star national recruit Jurrion Dickey followed by a perfectly placed spiraled deep ball to Dom Boccabella from sophomore QB Wills Towers.
The game became a fumble contest in the second quarter after Valley Christian tied the game up with Elijah McLemore’s run up the middle. Will Cuddie was the hero for VC with his deep end zone kicks and automatic field goal points.
Mitty’s defense held the Warriors’ offense below two touchdowns. The Monarchs’ offense struggled but showed plenty of bright spots with its young QB.
