St. Francis just keeps winning and breaking records. RBs Viliami “JuJu” Teu, Camilo Arquette, and the rest of the Lancers offense rushed for a total of 472 yards eclipsing their 1992 record against St. Ignatius of 417 yards.

Teu scored five times and was impressive once again. Arquette was tonight’s “hammer” since he got called upon when the Lancers needed some tough yards. Arquette delivered.

Speaking of tough, Aptos was tough. Tough enough to scare St. Francis heading into the fourth quarter with a score 28-28. The Mariners opened up the game with a forced fumble on the opening kick-off. Collin Mennie punched the ball loose from Teu and the ball landed right into the hands of Jake Galster. Aptos QB Nick Forbes then threw a 39-yard TD pass to Rio Cruz.

The game went back and forth until St. Francis came up with their first fourth-down stop with Mathias Vavao making the tackle right on the line. That turnover on downs led to a score. Padraic Casey made his game-changing stop early in the fourth on 4th and 6 from the Mariners’ 25 with the game tied up at 28. Teu then scored his fourth of the night with 40-yard hustle followed by an 18 yarder after another defensive stop.

St. Francis scored 28 points in the fourth quarter to win 56-28. They will play Menlo-Atherton next Friday at home with a 7pm kickoff time.
