WCAL | Riordan Crusaders vs St. Francis Lancers

Saint Francis pitched their third shutout of the 2021 Fall season against the Riordan Crusaders. The defense played physical as always and passed the test when Riordan tried their secondary. Riordan came over with a game plan to stop Juju Teu and the Lancers run attack but they struggled to execute early.

QB Joshua Perry of the Lancers completed 6/13 for 138 yards and a touchdown. Teu was limited to just 123 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. Junior Andrew Carrasquillo’s momentum-stopping pick-6 was huge to end the first half and pretty much put Riordan in a difficult comeback position. Watch out for the Crusaders to finish the season strong, they are a few corrected mistakes away from winning. Plus they are battle-tested against Serra and St. Francis now. If they stay healthy, they could win the last three games and take the fourth spot in the final WCAL standings.

The build-up of the Lancers vs Padres regular-season finale is growing by the second. This game will be just as big as a CCS Championship or even a NorCal finals game. One thing is for sure, GetSportsFocus will be there.
